In collaboration with The Creative Quarter we present AREEF, the world's first multi-player Underwater Augmented Reality game. AREEF lets you swim with virtual fishes in a real pool at the Victoria Leisure Centre in Nottingham. Using our water-proofed tablet computers, up to three kids (age 8-12) at a time can dive into a fascinating new game world and complete small quests in a virtual coral reef environment.
AREEF is the result of a Korean-German research project that was led by Fraunhofer FIT, Germany. For the first time ever, the game will now staged in the UK as part of GameCity 9.
